Digital Trust

Is my data safe? Can I trust this seller? Is this witness trustworthy? In this fast-paced information society, we more than ever have to rely on our intuition to decide whether another person is trustworthy. This project brings together psychologists and economists to explore the mechanisms of intuitive trust. Subtle influences often create "good feeling" in us which may subsequently foster trust without us being aware of it. Because we therefore sometimes blindly trust the wrong persons, this research project will not only shed light upon these influences but also includes internationally renowned social-, media- and court-psychologists to explore possibilities how to prevent us from placing our trust in the wrong persons.
